About the Bean: Normally the cherry of the coffee plant grows two seeds that develop with two flat facing sides. These 2 seeds are harvested as 2 coffees beans. However, sometimes one of the 2 seeds is not fertilized and only one seed develops within the cherry, with no flattening effect. This seed ends up as a small, oval, pea-shaped bean with just a small split down the center – called a Peaberry.
